Return it or wait and see

DH and I got DS this toy, which Ive seen numerous times and thought would be cool, that plays music when you press a button and balls come up and go down a slide. Problem is DS loves the balls but gets scared when the toy goes on (kinda sounds like a low volume vacuum) an starts to cry. I was thinking of just returning it for something else, but was wondering if we should wait and see if he warms up to it.

Is it the busy ball popper? DD loves that thing... she was never scared of it although it is kinda loud (the music too) and she still has a blast with it at 13 months. Did you show him how to press the button? At that age DD would get so excited when she figured out how to press the button to make it work.

DD was originally scared of that thing. She was 10 months when she got it and would freak out when it would start up. I put it away for a couple of months and then she loved it. She still plays with it at 2 1/2.

If it is the ball popper....wait! DD got it last xmas when she was 9 months old and she HATED it.....cried, screamed. We took it out about 2 months later and she still loves it at 18 months old!

Yup thats the toy. So wait? He wont push the button...not interested. Just likes the balls. The only thing he does with it is knock it over to try to get the balls out.
