review of NCL Spirit

DH and I just got back from a 6-day Spirit cruise. It left out of NY, went to Cape Canaveral, Nassua, and Great Stirrup Cay (NCL's island)
Overall we had a good time, but we were underwhelmed for the most part. We ate in the main dining room twice and were unimpressed both times. The room service menu is extremely limited, which ****@d. The breakfast and lunch buffets were ok, at best. You could always find something to eat, but the basics get pretty repetitive after a day or two.
One thing that was really good were the specialty restaurants. We found them to be well worth the extra expense. We ate at the steakhouse, the French restaurant, and the teppanyaki (Japanese)- the steakhouse was our favorite.
The rooms were much smaller than on Carnival. We were actually taken aback when we walked into the room. It was very basic with the smallest TV we've ever seen. Thank goodness we had a balcony so it made it seem a little bigger. We liked that there was a coffee machine in the room and we were able to have coffee on the balcony.
We did like that the ship was a little on the small side, which made for easy maneuvering- DH has a tendency to get lost. Chat Icon We liked that it didn't feel like you were going on a hike to get from one place to the next.
We went to one show and it was aweful. It was a singing and dancing review and it reminded us of a well done high school preoduction. The only other show we wanted to see was the comedian, but we had dinner reservations at the same time so we missed it.

Hope that's helpful. If anyone has any other questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks for the honest review. Glad you had fun eventhough the ship wasn't great.
