Rheumatoid Arthritis or Lupus
I was diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos syndrome this past week (not a shocker at all). The geneticist is not 100% convinced that this is the cause of my joint pain and suggested that I push the Rheumatologist to keep checking other underlying issues..
My DS-DNA antibodies are elevated but my other levels are normal. So the Rheumatologist wants to take a wait and see approach. It's getting very frustrating b/c Im spending more days now with pain than without pain...The pain isnt debilitating but it is a constant discomfort and it's exhausting.
If you have RA or Lupus what OTC medications do you take? Any holistic remedies? Heat/Ice on joints? Basically what makes you feel better?
Also if you are taking RX medication specifically for joint and muscle pain what are you taking?

Well, for my neck pain, I take some prescription pain medications and muscle relaxants but I was also recently prescribed Voltaren Gel. I think of it as ibuprofen that goes on topically. It seems to work. It does not have the smell of all those old school muscle rubs.

Hmmmmm I'll have to look that up. I obviously cant be walking around on percocets...(they did little for my pain anyway)
