Rich's birthday - I'm stumped.

Rich's birthday is just about 2 weeks away.

I wanted to buy him an iPod or XM radio, but he keeps insisting that he doesn't want one, won't use it, etc. When he's home, he doesn't listen to the radio, and when he's in the car, he listens to the FAN660 anyway, so it would be pretty useless to buy XM.

He doesn't need any clothes.

I'm so stuck.
He says he wants to go to Atlantic City - the only day I can do that is this coming Sunday (no work/class on Monday due to the Jewish Holiday) - but I feel like that isn't a birthday present, you know?

Any suggestions? I really can't spend a lot. Chat Icon

Thanks Chat Icon

is Fan660 a sports station?

Sirius has a lot of sports stations...one that talks about all sports, a basball station, a basketball station etc.

taking him to AC is a very nice idea especially if he wants to go...look around at the hotels rates they are not as expensive for sunday as opposed to the weekend.(although I dont know if that will be the case with people having monday off) ..Have fun..HTHChat Icon

I think AC would be agreat idea - especially if he wants to go.
Call a casino you've been to before and you'll probably be able to get a casino rate on a room - especially for a Sunday.
There are a few restaurants off the strip that are inexpensive and have great food.

yeah, i used my poker club rate and got the havana tower at the Tropicana for $69 - so that's the easy part!
I guess I can take him out to dinner, and give him some playing money, but there's nothing tangible, you know? Nothing that he can actually OPEN on his birthday....I guess I just feel a little weird giving my man money for his birthday!

What about a cool Mets collectable from ebay or somewhere? A signed bat or jersey.

Chat Icon That was last Christmas' gift!
He has Pedro, Wright, Beltran, etc.

Actually, now that you mention it - he really like the 1969 Vintage jersey with Reyes on the back!

Wow - I can't believe I didn't remember that! I'm going to see about ordering it - if its not too bad, I'll probably do AC and the jersey.

Thanks!!!!!! Chat Icon

there has to be a way to get him into a practice session or something so he can meet the players. Chat Icon
