Riding the LIRR / Air Train with DC
DH and I will flying out of JFK and will need to take the train to get there with the kids. DD will be in a lightweight stroller. Any tips for traveling on the train?
ETA: We would need to take a taxi from our house to the nearest LIRR station (about 3 miles). We don't plan on traveling with car seats bc my IL have them in FL. Do we just ride without them?

Super easy! I have done it a few times. I just brought some snacks until we got to terminal. It's very quick. The elevator is easy to find at Jamaica. Then you just buy an air tran ticket and it takes you to your terminal.

I was against it but we took Air Train back from JFK last year and it was easy to do, no issues. My DS was 5 so no stroller but we had a lot of luggage (went on an 8 day trip) and it was much more manageable than I thought. I'd do it again, no question!

my sister did it a few months ago with her dc. just leave extra time to travel from air tran to your terminal. she almost missed her flight.
