RN Positions?
My sister graduated in May with an Associate's degree in nursing and is a licensed RN. She was a great student Co-President of the student nursing association. She as applied for a ton of positions but cannot find a job. Anyone know of open positions?

Re: RN Positions?
What county is she in?
It's definitely hard right now if you don't have a Bachelors and/or at least 1 year of experience. North Shore used to take Associates nurses, but now (well, last i heard at least a few months ago) they're trying to obtain Magnet status, so they were only hiring Bachelors nurse.
Has she tried calling HR offices directly?

Re: RN Positions?
Thanks for responding. Her official residency is currently in Suffolk County but she is right on the border and willing to travel. You are correct that North Shore has stopped hiring with an associate's degree. Everyone wants one year experience but how does she get that if no one is hiring without experience.

Re: RN Positions?
I work for a home care agency and we are always hiring nurses, especially per diem.
I believe they want experience, but who knows...........we really need nurses maybe there's a way to get around it.......
