Seriously my MIL is nutso- Im in a building w/ a billion kids and parents- and NO ONE even knew there was grandparents day this weekend...
She was celebrated as a grandmother on Mother's Day-
Seriously I cant take it anymore- I WANT OUT!
This is not what I signed up for!
GOD GIVE ME STRENGTH!
eta- When I asked DH if he celebrated Grandparents day as a kid- he said- "No- whats grandparents day?"

Re: Robbed
Can someone suggest how I am supposed to deal/handle these types of nasty emails, voicemails, confrontations...
Because apparently all the cards, emails and "talks" in the world isnt enough to get through to her!!!
How long will it take before I can just read/hear this... and roll my eyes and not care...
Im tired of always being pizzed off!

Ya know- I started a reply-
One along the lines of..
Since Ryan (DH) and I never celebrated Grandparents day as kids- we didnt even know it exsisted!
But then I thought- Why bother?
No matter how nasty or nice I get she just never stops!

Re: Robbed
Have you tried just ignoring her and going about your business? Maybe she will just get tired of bugging you if she hits a wall of silence?

Re: Robbed
I would seriously stop having her come over and ignore her phone calls. As for the nasty phone messages, e-mails, etc...do you show them to your dh?? Face to face, tell her that you don't appreciate the way she speaks to you and tell her if she continues, then she is forcing you to stay away from her and that includes her seeing her grandson.

Just tell her you don't feel the need to validate Hallmark Holidays, particularly since she stole Mother's Day.

Re: Robbed
Just so you don't feel like you're the only one with a loon for a MIL, mine has been telling everyone from the 3-D picture that my son looks just like her. And the other day she told DH and I that our son is going to love being at her house so much that he's never going to want to come home.

Seriously- Ron can we have a thread of a support group of those with looney IL's-
I swear we could put all our issues their- and piece together a book!

Re: Robbed
I just have to laugh at her. She genuinely means well, she just has a way of making everything about her. She likes to take credit for everything- even if it's something little. On the upside (depending how you look at it) it's not like she does it to just me. She's like that with her own brother's and sister's too.

Re: Robbed
I would e-mail her back & tell her that you refuse to even discuss things like that with her. That if she is not going to be nice that you will ignore it till she stops. Just because she is being immature doesn't mean you have to sink down to her level!! Lots of
