Rocker or Glider

So my mom just sent me a message asking if I would consider 2 rocking chairs instead of a glider. She said she was planning on buying the rocker. Then I explained that the stores sell gliders etc. She is insisting that we will want one up stairs and one down, especially with twins.

What would you do? or what did you do?

i have a upholstered glider- that i love- i kept it int he nursery with my first son - it was great for middle of the night feedings- i use to sleep in it all the time - i liked havign it in a quiet place and out of the way

during the day i was fine nursing on the couch or the recliner - so you may have other spots that work

also i would try the glider/rocker out with the BF pillow you plan on using - good position for your elbows makes it more comfortable - pick what is most comfortable to you - you will use it the most

Re: Rocker or Glider

I would advise NOT to get a rocking chair. Unless they are well padded they aren't that comfy and they don't rock very well. Gliders are very easy to rock softly or faster and you will be so grateful for that at 3am Chat Icon

I am chooseing to p *** on this item. I am having twins & feel I won't be staying in bedroom with one feeding & the other sleeping/crying. I will be going into another room. Also, when it comes time to move rocker out of room then what do you do with it?

We had an upholstered rocker/recliner that we got from Behr's with my first daughter that we love and use every night. It's also comfortable for napping in with a sleeping baby.

I agree with the comments that rockers are not nearly as comfortable without padding of some kind. I feel the same way about most gliders on the market too.

In terms of up and down, I think you have to judge how comfortable your other furniture is.

Re: Rocker or Glider

I ordered a glider/recliner from Little Castle. I ordered it through Buy Buy Baby with a 20% off coupon. I am waiting for it to be delivered. I thought that was the best bet for me since it glides/rocks and reclines! I can't wait to get i!!! Go to a store and sit in all the chairs and see what feels the best for you!
