Just wondering if anyone has any feedback on the roku or amazon fire. We are looking to get one and I'm really not sure of the difference

I know nothing about the Amazon fire but we love our Roku. I am the least tech savvy person ever and even I can use it with no issues! We actually just purchased a second device for our bedroom.

We love our Roku.
Also, we had a google chromecast, which I hated.
I know nothing about amazon fire.

LOVE. love, love Roku. We have had various model for years. There are so many channels and they are well established so you will likely have more options available than the Fire does right now. Roku has been around the block for a while, Fire is brand new.............many networks and channels might not be on board with their service yet.

Chromecast is not a standalone player. Its an extension of your tablet/phone/computer to send stuff to TV.

I love my Roku and every day there are new and more channels being added that are free and have a low monthly payment.

Yes I know, because I used it. But it sometimes gets lumped in with rokus and apple tv, etc and I figured I would mention that I didn't like that.

We actually have both and I find them equally comparable. The Amazon Fire is new though, and I have had a Roku for years now and have never had an issue with it and love it.
The fire has way more apps and games on it (all the big ones), but I really dont use it for that purpose but if that is an important feature to you....Fire, definitely.
