Romantic, driving-distance vacation for next week!
Hi all,
Can anyone recommend a romantic, relaxing road trip vacation for next week? I have had 2 surgeries this summer and could not make plans ahead but I'm feeling ok(ish) and want to do *something*. My BF only has next week off and then that's it... No more possible vacations until Christmas. We would like to go maybe 5-7 days. Could be two destinations as well.
I don't want to fly and I don't want to be trapped on a cruise, though we found a great deal, I don't think I can risk it.
We'd love to do Mohonk but it was around $700 a night!!!! 
Any suggestions? TIA!

Newport (an from there you could go up to Boston or to Cape Cod if you want to split up the week)
or maybe Martha's Vineyard (never been, but its on my list)

We did a mini-moon at Cape Cod last year and we had the best time! I don't know if its enough to last a full week so I would bop around like the above poster said.

Was just in LBI this weekend and stayed at the cutest little B&B in Beach Haven. So romantic and the price was very reasonable. Location was awesome too!

How about Cape May? Beautiful bed and breakfasts, excellent restaurants where you can bring your own wine and have ocean views. Go see the sunset at Sunset Beach.

We recently went to the finger lakes and stayed at Mirbeau. Thought it was very romantic.
