Roth IRA Help Please!
Ok...I'm totally clueless...numerous people have informed me that I NEED a Roth IRA, so I am going to start one....this week....but....I have no idea where to go
Do I need a financial planner? Do I go to a bank? Who manages the IRA? I dont know where to start.
I also dont know what the max is that I can put in. Any and all help and guidance is greatly appreciated!!!!

where: almost anywhere. choose a place where you're comfortable. your local bank should have them. if you already have money invested, you might feel comfortable going with that financial institution.
how much: i think the max is $4000

The maximum contribution for 2008 is $5,000.
If you're over 50 yrs old, it's $6,000.
