Rough estimate on refinishing wood (oak) floors
We found a house and bid on it but know the floors need to be refinished (they were under rugs for 50 years) - how much does this run?

Re: Rough estimate on refinishing wood (oak) floors
We used for Jason's Hardwood Floors & I'd highly recommend them: (631) 831-6317. A lot of my coworkers have used him (9 people now) and they all rave about him too!
He repaired & refinished the hardwood for us in our living room, hall & 3 small bedrooms (I'm not sure about the sq. footage) & managed to make them look almost like new again (they had been severely damaged). We paid $1,076 total, which I think is pretty reasonable. Good luck!

That is reasonable - Thank you! Just wanted to factor this in so we know what we need if we get the house!

Re: Rough estimate on refinishing wood (oak) floors
We just got an estimate for our floors... livingroom, dining room, hallway, staircase and three bedrooms, including all repairs plus replacing all saddles (doorways and closets)... $2850. This includes having them restained a dark walnut. If we just wanted poly and no stain it would have been significantly less.

No problem! The pp just reminded me, that price included 2 saddles, 3 coats of poly & the replacement of a few boards...
ETA: good luck with this bid!!!
