Round Ligament Pains

I just turned 17 weeks yesterday - and when I woke up in the morning I had these weird pains very low - below my belly (around the bikini area) They lasted all day - and pretty much into today.

When I read my Pregnancy Week By Week book it described Round Ligament Pains in Week 17. Do you think this is what I am feeling? It almost feels like pulling of something inside of me. I just want to make sure that it's nothing serious.

If this is round ligament pains - I think it's so weird that on the day I turned 17 weeks I started feeling this - and this is the week they wrote about it in the book. Hopefully I'm right on schedule!!!

Yes your having a growth spurt. They are annoying but they do ease a bit.

ugh..they hurt..and I get them on my sides and it extends to my back...
feel better!

I am 19 weeks today and I've had them for about 2 weeks now Yes, they hurt, but I can tell you that with a little rest and if you can, get off your feet, it helps A LOT.

VERY annoying pains.

Yup - sounds like it to me. I had small bouts of pain here and there but the 17th week also seemed like a big one for me too.

See how you feel over the next couple of days...if it just seems off then definitely give a call to your doc. They told me not to worry unless I saw blood.

Oh - and you ca expect that sometime soon your belly will pop!!! At least that's how it happened for me...baby must have needed more room than I was supplying at the time.

Yup that probably exactly what they are. You'll probably notice them go away in a few days and you're belly may be a bit bigger. Its just stretching and pulling and the baby making its way up and getting bigger.

I feel them every now and then. I'm in my 14th week so its good to know they only get worse- haha!!!

I have had them since my like 13th week. Its annoying but it only means things are growing.

omg I had the worse pains yesterday! I couldnt stand straight, I freaked out at first... nobody prepares you for all these weird things happening to your body

Sounds like it to me. You get used to them surprisingly quck though.

It's probably what it is. Mine started to stretch at week "7"

I am used to it by now.

If it becomes too uncomfortable, lay down and bent your knees a bit.

Mine started on week 24 - I couldnt stand up straight they hurt so badly. I really didnt know what was going on and thought about going to the emergency room - but then they subsided 2 hours later.

The next day it was like I swallowed a soccer ball - my stomach grew like 3 inches overnight!

Yep that is what it is. I am 17 weeks also and I feel them very low when i wake up in the morning or when i get up to fast. Its also more painful at night. It really is very uncomfortable. Today is not so bad as yesterday though.

I had them really early on and went to the doctor about it because it was pretty painful but then the next week I popped a little and every time I had them after that my belly got a little bigger soon after. Its totally normal!
