RP from pregnancy - reduced fetal movement?

Hey ladies -

I am up because I made myself eat something and drink some juice to get this baby moving a little.

I am due today, but last night I began getting worried because even after eating all this stuff at the seder, I just havent been feeling the baby do its natural squirms and flip flops in my belly. I know there is little room in there, and I know I'm feeling something, but its just not a lot.

Same thing with this morning - I usually feel the aby around the time DH wakes up in the morning for work - 4:00-4:30AM, but this morning not a lot.

When I moved around from my left to right side, and then on my back, I would feel an occasional little movement. I finally woke up to eat toast with jelly, some dried apples, and a glass of pear juice... all sweet stuff that should get the baby going...

I know I'm just being paranoid, but if anyone is up and has BTDT, and can help me feel better, I'd appreciate it - I do have a dr. appt at 12:00 today....

ETA: I am feeling some little thumps here and there inside... I'm sure thats a good sign... Maybe this baby is just being smart and resting up before labor, unlike mommy, who will be exhausted from being up and worrying....

I would say to remember that there isn't much more room in there for the little bugger to move around! Also, the kid is getting ready to be born, thats exhausting!

Go back to bed!

I am about to - thanks for your help.... Maybe once I lie down the little bugger
(Chat Icon ) will perk up a bit - thats usually what happens...

I know I'm being ridiculous, but I'm just getting so nervous...

Sounds like you're going to go into labor soon - that's one of the signs - the baby stops moving, and starts storing up energy for the big day Chat Icon

I DISTINCTLY remember that the night before I went into labor, I was sooo distraught - I drank OJ, ate chocolate, and NADA, no movement. I freaked out on DH, who told me, let's wait until the morning and if there's still nothing, we'll go to L&D. So, I went to sleep, all worried, felt a little tap and was a little relieved (but mind you, all throughout my pregnancy my daughter was doing some serious somersaults in there!), so I went to sleep.

Woke up at 5am with the most painful contractions and was in the hospital by 7am.

Sooooooooooo, how are you feeling today? Chat Icon

drink some orange juice and lay on the couch for a half and hour.. you should be able to feel the baby move about 6 times in an hour.. if not go to the dr.. it might be a sign he needs to induce you today!!

I noticed a change in movement before I went into labor. I went to my already scheduled appt and told my dr. that she wasn't moving as usual. She did an internal and said that I was contracting, but I couldn't feel them. I was sent to the hospital and got a little help from Pitocin.

My DD was gearing up for birth by taking it easy and worrying mama. I'm sure that's your situation but of course, consult with your doctor.

{{{{Labor Vibes!}}}} Good Luck!!

Hope things are better this morning! (later this morning!) Let us know how your appt. goes. I'm sure everything is okay, just not much room left in there!

Re: RP from pregnancy - reduced fetal movement?

Ladies - thank you!!! I posted on pregnancy, but it helps to hear from moms who went thru this and delivered their healthy beautiful babies!!!

Beth - that is exactly what I have been feeling - all the things that I eat that usually sets this baby into tasmanian devil mode has been doing very little - I am feeling little taps and thumps - but nothing like how it usually is - still not in labor though! Chat Icon

I am off to my dr. now anyway for my weekly appt - I will definitely post an update on this thread - thank you ladies soooo much for your words though - I really needed them - by the way - I DID go back to sleep at about 6:30, woke up a little while ago to take a shower before my dr. appt - I figured she's appreciate it! I'm sure everything is fine. I know the week before my daughter was born, my little "tricks" to get her moving were not working. I was paranoid that something was wrong. Everything was fine. The baby is getting in position and is probably pretty confined. That or he's worn out from all the good eatsChat Icon Chat Icon You know how tired you can get after a big dinner!Chat Icon Chat Icon
