RP from Pregnancy - Signs of labor?
OK - so for the past few days I have been getting what I refer to as twinges - like - twinges of cramps, twinges of contractions - nothing that lasts for too long or comes back long enough to time...
Anyone else experience these prior to officially going into labor?
Can these twinges last for weeks? Or am I looking at days?
Its weird - because it feels so unnatural after being pregnant for 9 mts - in your 1st and 2nd trimesters, you don't ever want to feel pains like this, so it gets a little alarming feeling them now, even though I am due so soon, it still gets scary....
I should add - my last visit - no dilation, no effacement, still had my mucus plug - I'm assuming I havent lost it yet - I would probably notice....

Re: RP from Pregnancy - Signs of labor?
Hey Lisa, it sounds like it could be Hickston Bracks contractions.
Your body is definitely getting ready.
How exciting, any day now.

It's different than the BH contractions - I have been getting those since my 6th month - BH have no pain with them- this is more like a sharp menstrual cramp with the combined joy of a hot poker up my butt feeling... To be exact! I should add that I do not get the BH contractions with them, the AF pains come on their own....

Re: RP from Pregnancy - Signs of labor?
I had "false labor" for about a week before I finally went. So you can have contractions for a while, before you actually go into active labor, but you know it should be only a few more days now.

My theory is labor begins when you least expect it. I was obesessed over every little thing going on with my body the week before I went into labor. The minute I decided I wasn't going into labor anytime soon and to just forget about everything I was feeling bam full blown labor!

I feel kind of the same way. My contractions started on a Tuesday and by the weekend I had finally given up on them. I remember waking up Sunday morning saying, "Oh well, I guess he's not coming this week after all." That night around 9:30 the contractions got serious enough that I couldn't go to sleep and by midnight I was finally starting to believe this was actually it -- but for a long time I thought it was more false labor.
