Re: RSofNY Girls....? for you
I go to the Stony Brook office (actually Tuesday will probably be my last appt there b/c they are releasing me to OB)...I haven't noticed anything strange, except that I have seen a lot more NP's lately because it seems that the Dr's have all been rotating vacations...Is there any specific changes that you noticed ?...Hope it gets better for you

Re: RSofNY Girls....? for you
Well this is the start of the second cycle for me. I go to mineola. I don't know, they aren't the mushiest people but I have to say they are quick. I would take quick, meaning I don't wait in the morning, over mushy anyday. But overall they seem okay to me. What have you noticed?

Re: RSofNY Girls....? for you-more specific
OK maybe I should get specific. After having my IVF cycle canceled and waiting for AF to show b-4 I started again, I have been away from the office since February. Well AF FINALLY showed up on Friday and I called to make my CD3 sono for sunday to finally get IVF started. I was also calling to update my medical and let them know that Empire is now my primary insurance and there will be no co-pays!!! So, they update my info and then I ask to be transfered to the front desk to make my appointment. The girl that picked up the phone was less than enthused. Told her I needed to make my CD-3 sono for Sunday and she tells me that they dont do weekend sono appointments anymore. and that I'll have to come in on Monday. So I start explaining that I will be out of town on monday (Atlantic city for my Birthday booked for over a month now)....and her response was "I dont know what to tell you" I then proceed to let her know that her attitude was UNACCEPTABLE and she says she'll check with a nurse. She gets back on the phone and says they'll make an exception but i had to come in today (CD2) and not on sunday. So, i had my appointment today and there is NO ONE there....totally empty waiting room...I've never seen it so dead. I had my sono and I see the NP because apparently there are no doctors there that early anymore...and she says the doctor will call me later to let me know how much gonal-f to start tonight. Then a girl who i've never seen before starts trying to draw my blood and stabs me four time and goes on the vein hunting expedition in my arm before giving up on that arm and has to call another girl over...another one that i've never seen before...and she starts lecturing the girl on the correct procedure...here....feel.....THIS is what a vein feels like....and then she proceeds to go on her own vein fishing expedition in my arm before she finally gets it (bruising the crap out of me in the process). I'm told that I should make an appointment for the islip office on wednesday. So....i wait till 2pm before they call and tell me to start gonal tonight and that I need to come in on Monday. I explain again that I will be out of the state and wont be able to come in on Monday and she tells me that I cant wait until wednesday and that they will have to CANCEL my IVF cycle if I dont come in on monday....so here I go with my this is UNACCEPTABLE speach again and she puts me on hold to so she can speak with the doctor. After 10 mins on hold she comes back and say fine...I can come in on Tuesday....so I get sent back to the front desk again so I can make my appointment and they tell me i cant have the first morning appointment that they're booked now (I work in NYC and if I want to be in before 11am I have to have the first morning appointment) so after complaing and hearing AGAIN "I dont know what to tell you" I just take the 7:15 appointment on Tuesday and hang up. I have never had these issues with them before and didnt know if something funky was going on with them. I was so excited that they were a center of excellence and that I have no co-pay but now I'm trying to figure out if its worth continuing to go there if I dont get my BFP after this cycle. Their whole demeanor is just so bizzare that I was like what's going on here.

Re: RSofNY Girls....? for you
Wow - that seems so out of character for them - I'd be too....As for the weekend sono thing- unless thats BRAND new and I mean like within the past 2 weeks, then I think she must have been confused or something, or just plain old having a bad day, which is unacceptable...I know there have been times where my CD 3 have fallen on holidays and perhaps a Sunday and they have had me come in on CD2 instead....Was this the SB office ???....If it is, there is a "new" girl there drawing blood, fortunately she hasnt had any problems on my arms ... An answer like "I don't know what to tell you " is ridiculous....I would give them another shot if you've been happy there in the past, I can't help but think it was an isolated incident, in general they have always been really pleasant (except for one of the older ladies that answers tha phones can be a snip- but I notice she works there on week-ends a lot) Hopefully it was just a full moon or something

Wow, I haven't had any issues at all lately, and in the past 3 weeks I've been there 3 times and seen a dr. 2 out of the three times.Nothing seems any different to me. I haven't seen the new phlebotomist either. Which office do you go to? I go the the SB office.

Re: RSofNY Girls....? for you
Wow. I was there Thursday, Mineola though, and I got a sono appointment for next saturday no problem. I can't understand why they told you they don't do weekend appointments.
It sounds like you go to the SB office so I can't comment on the blood situation. In Mineola, the person is great. Can you switch offices since it is on your way into the city anyway? Do you take a train? Threre is a LIRR station right outside the office.
I'm sorry you had such a bad experience.

I agree, I also go to the Mineola Office and have never had an issue... especially with the girl with the blood... no one can ever find my veins and everytime I go she is so amazing at doing it 1-2-3! I was so surprised the first time I went how fast she did it!
The only Issue I had was when I went for my IUI, it took much longer then I thought, but it didn't bother me, I was just surprised, b/c I am always in and out of there, but I guess thats expected since its an IUI.
Good Luck, I hope you get it straightened out.
