RSoNY believes in NK cells!
I questioned the RE there today about immune issues, recurrent loss, and IF. She said she does not believe in the immune bloodwork aspect bc there's a high variable rate and that the meds are questionable. I figured this bc all RE's are saying this to me.
She does though believe in NK cells and the body's inflammatory/immune function preventing implantation. She is having me do an endometrial biopsy first before we proceed to IVF to test my lining and rule it out.
I thought that this was pretty awesome for an RS Dr!

I think it's a great step in the direction that you are questioning your care and your doctor.
But I would think all Doctors, no matter what field believe in an "immune" inflammatory response because there are known diseases that cause other disruptions, so why not implantation?
I can't see why though meds would be questionable or immune bloodwork? In my case, the medications specifically prescribed to reduce my nk activity (that caused an inflammatory response) did their job. They are meds generally used to treat other auto immune disorders or inflammation. The bloodwork is evidence and supports the immune disorders response!
What's the reasoning for the endometrial biopsy? Have you had a hysteroscopy or hsg before?
I ask only because I've been seeing it pop up on the boards before. Is it necessary?

I had the endo biopsy on Saturday. While it wasn't pleasant its not terrible. I'm still spotting today though. If it brings some answers its definitely worth it. GL

When I went for immune testing that's one of the main things they test for! How else can you detect if you have a high level of NK cells?
