RTF vs. powder

my doctor said the only real difference in rtf vs. powder is convinience and price.

I find my daughter seems more full and less gassy with powder.

What does everyone else think?

Re: RTF vs. powder

I definitely think DD's less gassy with the powder. She spits up more after drinking the RTF and it's so much messier when she spits up. I totally prefer the powder.

Re: RTF vs. powder

I had the opposite experience. I found the powder made my boys gassy and less content. It was thinner and more bubbly. We were devoted fans of RTF.Chat Icon

Re: RTF vs. powder

In the beginning I fed DD RTF Similac and she spit up a lot. I'm not sure if it was a function of the powder vs. RTF or the Similac itself....
I then switched to Enfamil Gentlease and that only comes in powder- so she did seem less gassy- but she still spit up a lot..
So- then we switched to Enfamil AR which is good for spitting up and comes in both powder and RTF- but we went w/ powder b/c she was already used to the powder w/ the gentlease..
anyway- i like powder better b/c it is cost effective and I do think it is easier... the only thing with RTF is I think it's more filling b/c when DD was on RTF she ate 6-7 ounces but as soon as we went to powder she went right to an 8 ounce bottle.

Re: RTF vs. powder

With Patrick the powder made him get the runs bad. (he more then once pooped out his diaper!Chat Icon ) So, I had to give him the RTF.

But, my daughters thank-God were able to use the powdered.
