rubbing eyes while eating
for the past week ds (he is 14 months old) has been rubbing his eyes when he is eating... any of his meals... it was so bad over the weekend that his eye was all pink because he poked it and then rubbed it to the point of irritation... anyone have some insight on why he would be rubbing so much... it is really only during meal time

I have the same exact problem with DS! It aggravates the crap out of me. And it only happens when I am feeding him - not when he is feeding himself. He gets food everywhere
I have no advice. When he does that I take it to mean he is done eating.

When you find something that works let me know. What sometimes works for me is putting the TV on and distracting him by asking about who is on the TV and what they are doing. That gives me about 5 seconds.

Re: rubbing eyes while eating
same here...my son is 11 mo....I feel so bad when it is pasta bec Im sure it burns!!! I also think I take it as he is tired and done! I just make sure I have a baby wipe on hand ready to quickly clean his hands before he starts to avoid food going into his eyes..

Re: rubbing eyes while eating
if he only did it during dinner i would think he was tired but the other two meals are after he wakes up for the day or from his nap...

Re: rubbing eyes while eating
Allergy? Maybe something he's eating is making his eyes itch? Also I clean my kids hands with a washcloth as maybe the baby wipe may irritate him too?
