Rude comments continuing after giving birth???

While pregnant, I became quite bloated and swollen, and anyone who believes in old wive's tales knew I was having a girl....and told me it. Nice.

Today, someone told me TO MY FACE that they knew I was having a girl because she stole my beauty and now I'm pretty again. I was too shocked to say anything back.

I told my husband, and he didn't that it was that bad of a thing to say....am I the only one who thinks it's a little rude to tell someone they were ugly?

RUDE!!!

Tha fact that she said you are now "pretty again" just makes it a "back-handed compliment". Rude and passive-aggressive.

If this is a person you will see again there's probably no use in saying anything, they'll most likely claim they were giving you a complimentChat Icon

Re: Rude comments continuing after giving birth???

Well when I was preggo w/ DD, before we knew she was a girl, people said to me that it's a boy because I looked so beautiful Chat Icon I think it's just one of those annoying things that comes with pregnancy. Don't pay too much attention to it.

I think it's rude to comment negatively on anyone's appearance.

You should have said "At least I had beauty to get stolen and get back, unlike others I know."

Some people just suck. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Yes, the comments never end.

I just wonder what people are going to say when I go back to work. Like comments on my weight if I lost enough or not enough, how fast/slow I lost the weight, etc.... I may not be as nice and patient this time as I was with ankle woman.
