Rudeness....Needed to vent
So I recently moved into my basement apartment. Everything is nice here EXCEPT that the landlord and his RUDE kids stomp around all day. It's like their feet weight 100 lbs.
The daughters room is above mine and she must have just gotten dumped because she plays sad love songs all day, she even leaves the radio on all night. To make it worst she's spoiled and when her parents tell her No its non stop stomping and slamming her door.
The have a 22 year old son that is supposed to be in college but he's home most of the day with his friends. They are wrestling right now and it sounds like they are going to come through my ceiling. Their music is on full blast and they are trying to rap
I know that there are sounds that you just can't help and a little light stomping is ok but this isn't. I can't get my 3 year old to sleep through the night because these teens are up most of the night.
I want to say something but I just moved in not even a week ago and I feel like its common sense, people live under you be a bit more considerate.
Sorry so long but I needed to vent because I am 2 seconds from going up there and taping these wanna be rappers mouths shut

Wow, I think it's so inconsiderate of them to do that. My parents rented the basement for a long time and my mom was always asking that we be considerate of those below us. Sorry girl. I would say something in a nice way...ok you just oved but hey you are paying rent!

Re: Rudeness....Needed to vent
I know how you feel, our upstairs neighbor has a 3-4 year old and he is constantly stomping around, running around, rolling around toys and jumping off the beds. He does this until 12 am or so and then gets up bright and early the next morning and starts all over again. Some times he goes out into the hallway and starts screaming also. Thats a pleasure.

Re: Rudeness....Needed to vent
I think the basement apartments are pretty loud as a general rule. I lived with a retired couple and for the most part it was quiet, but they didn't always sleep through the night. I would hear them walking over my bedroom almost every night.
I might consider saying something if you think it would help, but maybe a white noise machine would help block out the noise so your child can sleep.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I try to be so considerate to the people downstairs from me. Maybe you could say something. You shouldn't have to put up with that!

That is very rude but basements seem to be bad in that way. When I am downstairs and DS is playing or running around upstairs it sounds like the floor is going to come crashing down.. everything seems amplified for some reason.
