Rumor: Angelina Jolie Gives Birth to Twins
Angelina Jolie is rumored to have given birth to twins.
"Yes, but that's all you need to know," a hospital source told Usmagazine.com via phone Saturday.
Reps for Jolie and beau Brad Pitt have not confirmed the rumor.
Last week, Jolie's obstetrician, Dr. Michel Sussmann, held a press conference to let reporters know the twins were due "in the weeks to come.
"Everything is normal," Sussmann said. "Everything is going well."
Pitt was photographed on Tuesday at the hospital. He was there with son Pax, 4.
Jolie previously received visits from Maddox, 6, as well as daughters Shiloh, 2, and Zahara, 3.
The actress, 33, checked into the hospital at the end of June via helicopter, local newspaper Nice Matin reported.
Jolie is staying on the hospital's fifth floor which features an "unobstructed view" over the Bay of Angels, the paper reported. She reserved four rooms on the maternity ward, with a bodyguard keeping watch, according to the report.
"Yes, Jolie is here, and she is absolutely fine," her rep told Us. "There is no need for people to worry."
The twins will be the 5th and 6th kids in the Jolie-Pitt family, joining Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, 2.
Jolie's delivery has been highly anticipated – and was falsely reported in late May. Her lawyers said an impostor posed as her assistant to start the rumor.
Jolie has said the pregnancy was "great for the sex life.
"It just makes you a lot more creative," she told Entertainment Weekly in June. "So you have fun, and as a woman you're just so round and full."
Jolie confirmed she was expecting twins during an interview for her movie Kung Fu Panda with co-star Jack Black, who accidentally let the news slip in Cannes on May 15. Watch a video of her announcing the news.
"I love being pregnant," the actress said. "You just feel like everything about your body is there for your baby."
The couple weren't expecting the double delivery.
"It did shock us, and we jumped to six quickly," she said. "But we like a challenge. We really don't know. His mom and dad are on standby to come out and help. And fortunately we can hire help if we need it, but we're going to try as we usually do to balance it as well as we can."
Jolie has also made it clear that she values having a worldwide brood. Pax was adopted from Vietnam, Maddox from Cambodia and Zahara from Ethiopia.
"All my children are from all different parts of the world, and especially my boys," she told Us. "We do have a teacher who teaches them Cambodian and Vietnamese in our house, and they know their flags and they know their music and they know quite a lot about their culture and [Brad and I] bring in as much as we can, and we'll continue to as they get older."
While attending the Cannes Film Festival (where Jolie premiered two movies in May), the family has been shacking up at Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen's luxe villa in Saint Jean Cap Ferrat in the south of France.
Nice Matin reported that Jolie and Pitt have signed a three-year lease for the 880-acre Chateau Miraval, valued at $70 million.
The spread, which includes a vineyard, moat, forest and 20 fountains, is also near homes owned by Johnny Depp and David and Victoria Beckham.
From In Touch Mag:
Sources at the La Fondation Lenval hospital in Nice, France, have revealed exclusively to In Touch that Angelina Jolie has given birth to her twins. According to insiders, the 33-year-old had a caesarean today at 6pm French time and delivered two girls. The first baby was born at 6.45 pm and the other at 7pm. The babies are in good health, another insider says. Sources say Brad was present during the birth. When contacted by In Touch, the hospital’s spokesperson, Nadine Bauer, said that journalists would not be notified ”within minutes” after the birth and that the only way they would be told was by a press release posted on the hospital Web site. Another insider adds that Angelina is expected to leave the hospital with her newborns within 48 hours. Angelina checked into the seafront hospital earlier this month in anticipation of the twins arrival.
