runners, what is your average pace per mile??
I've just started to get really serious about running and I want to do a 5K soon. I feel like like I am stuck at the same pace. I am shooting for 8 minute miles , but I just can't quite get there. Just curious to see how everyone else was doing. I keep seeing more and more runners on this board!!

On the treadmilll, I average 9:30 (about) per mile. i would also like to get to 8 mins.
On the road, I am much better, and i average about 8:45 mins per mile.

10 minutes
I haven't see 8 or under (my mile time in junior high was 6:40!)
since high school
I need to run with other people to pace myself- and senior year feild hockey was the last time I had that
oh the glory days- when I could drink a 6 pack on friday night- show up at practice in the morning and come in 1st in the mile run

My everyday running pace is a 10 minute mile. It's what I'm most comfortable at and have the best endurance at right now.

Good for you, 8 min miles is an awesome goal.
For 6 miles and under my pace is about an 8:30 mile for my long distance training runs 10, 16, 20 miles I fall back to an avg of 9 min. miles.

ITs so personal - meaning its so different for everyone.
On the treadmill andwith shorter runs (6 & under) i am about 8:45-9 min per mile..
longer runs (10mi +) i am about 10-1030 min per mile. thats the pace that i feel best at towards the end.
So even though i can run at a pretty good clip for a shrot run - when it comes to longer runs, im more concerned with feelnig fresh and full of energy instead of spent. adn that means that i do 10min+. but for someone else - they may still be at their 9 min pace....
all depends on you and your body.

roads ~9 ( ineed to wear my watch to do better with the roads)
with double baby stroller ~10
