Runners...Where do you run?
I'm in Suffolk on the North Shore and am curious to know where my fellow LI runners go when you want to do a long run?
Right now, my current options are a) treadmill, b) track, c) neighborhood. When I lived on the South Shore, I ran in Heckscher Park which I loved except for the fact it's all flat.
Any ideas on parks or good neighborhoods to run in? I'm in need of hills, etc.
Thanks!

I run in Mt. Sinai/Port Jeff/Setauket by the water - if you can make it up the Belle Terre hill, you can make it up ANY hill Fm me if you want the street names of my route!

Re: Runners...Where do you run?
I am also in Suffolk. I run around my neighborhood but like a pp suggested Port Jeff is GREAT for hills.
You can also run the loop at Stony Brook. It's 2.8 miles and has quite a few hills along the path.
ETS: Also check out Sound Beach.
PS If you go to mapmyrun.com you can search for runs in these different areas. For example here is the SB loop:
SB loop
You can find a run for just about anything you're looking for.
Happy running!

Re: Runners...Where do you run?
My neighborhood I'm in Queens and quite close to a great park and Fort Totten. I can't wait to build my endurance to run Sunken Meadow and then jump in the water!!!

Re: Runners...Where do you run?
I run around my neighborhood as well. When I do long runs, I cross into other neighborhoods and do big loops.
