Running???
Besides the cardiovascular benefits of running, what else do you benefit from? Is it suppose to get your legs and butt in shape? A while back I was running several times a week at 2 miles at a time and never saw a difference in my legs? I was hoping to slim them down in the thigh area? Do you need to run more and longer than that to see a difference? I was thinking about adding it back into my workout routine but didn't want to because I didn't see a difference in my appearance from it? Thanks!

Re: Running???
My butt gets a lot firmer, especially if I run hills.

Re: Running???
My calves are VERY toned and slender. As for my thighs - they are toned and strong - they will never be tiny - I have too much muscle. My butt is also toned. Additionally, it helps to firm up your mid-section. You do not realize it, but you use a lot of core muscles when you run. Given enough time, running can transform your body!

Re: Running???
Running has transformed my legs. I used to have tree trunk legs with no definition and cankles. I now have defined calves and ankles and my thighs are much smaller

Re: Running???
While I don't find that my legs get any slimmer (if anything, my quads may be bigger, but I run a lot of hills), I do feel that my legs and butt get more firm/toned.
I also feel like my midsection has been tightening up a bit too. I had taken some time off from running earlier this summer so I am still playing catchup, but my husband says he sees a difference!

Re: Running???
It really tones up my lower body. When I stop running for a few weeks, I definitely feel more jiggly.

Re: Running???
Maybe you are not running enough weekly mileage? I am not sure how much you need to run to notice a difference. I would think, maybe, 3-4 miles a week would not be enough to notice a difference?

Re: Running???
I agree with the above poster. I don't think 2 miles a couple of days a week will provide a noticable difference.

15+ miles per week to see & feel much of a difference (at least for me)

I was going to say the same thing - although I have no data to support this.

I started with doing the couch to 5k in April- so I wasn't doing much mileage...even now I am only doing less than 10 miles a week
my pancake azzz is now transformed into a badonkadonk (for me), my thighs haven't really changes that much, but my calves and ankles are def smaller, as well as my waist

Re: Running???
I agree about needing more miles to feel the difference. When I first started running I was doing about 4-5 miles a week and while it did help with losing weight, I didn't feel like it was doing much for toning. Now I'm up to running between 10-20 miles a week and I definitely see and feel a difference in my legs, butt and even arms.
