Nike shox or Nike air max
Not the best for running.. I have no arches!!! I think I need Asics or Mizuno.
I work out in shox now... I want something for strictly running...

Well, after watching the Biggest Looser last night I really want to do a triathalon.. but I doubt it'll happen..lol
It's getting nicer out so I want to start running outside.. I don't run on the treadmill cause I have shin splints, but I'd run on a track.. so I need good sneakers!!

I love Sauconys for running.
Same. I ran track, XC in school and continued running for years after that, and tried many different brands. Sauconys IMO are the best running sneakers.

Re: Running Sneakers...
the asics gel kayano are supposedly the best on the market right now.
i need a lot of support and have the adidas supernova control and adidas supernove cushion. they are sooo comfy!

Re: Running Sneakers...
I love Saucony -
but, it really depends on YOUR foot.
I recommend going to the runners edge in farmingdale, they will fit you with the best pair for your feet.

Re: Running Sneakers...
There are no "best" sneakers...it all depends on your gait (running style). Do you over or under pronate? A preference in brand is ok, if it is based on your comfort in their shoes.
I have been wearing Asics for years, they just fit me best and have the right amount of cushioning vs. support. I have a neutral stride, so I need some support, not a lot like the Kayano, but prefer forefront cushioning...so I have been wearing the Nimbus. I ran the marathon in "06 in the 2110...but will be wearing the Nimbus this year. With the Nimbus I get less blisters, and aches and pains, but this is because of my body and style....not because it's the best shoe on the market
See it all depends. Go to a sneaker store and have them check your gait and reccomend a sneaker.
I am just sharing what I have learned from my coaches and years of running. Good luck and happy running!

Re: Running Sneakers...
there is a store in Farmingdale (I think) that my dh has gone to that can help you figure out the best running sneaker for you. In the city, Paragon may also be helpful...also Jack Rabbit and this other running place in Grand Central.
my dh is a marathoner...he wears either Mizuno's or asics.
I am NOT a marathoner LOL...my addidas are fine for me (I don't run more than 10-12 miles a week)
I HATE Nike for running.

Re: Running Sneakers...
Thanks everyone!! They opened this new "runners" store near my house.. I may go there and check it out.. I used to run outside all the time in high school, and I don't know why I ever stopped!! I want to get back into it.. I have FLAT feet... I'm sure it's best to get fitted by a professional..
THANKS!!!
