Russell Simmons to Pay $40K Child Support a Month
For reality star Kimora Lee, it's Life in the Fab Lane, indeed.
The divorce between Lee, 33, and Russell Simmons, 51, has been finalized, with huge payouts for the model/fashion designer.
Simmons has agreed to pay child support for daughters, Ming, 9, and Aoki, 6, of $20,000 each per month until the girls turn 19, according to court papers filed Thursday in Los Angeles.
Lee also won sole legal and physical custody of the girls, with monitored visitation for Simmons.
"When the children are in [Simmons's] custody, they shall be accompanied at all times by a nanny and security person," the filing reads.
Simmons also agreed to provide a new car, worth at least $60,000, for the children's use, until they turn 16. The car will be replaced every three years, documents show.
The papers also outline a meticulous, seven-page agreement on Simmons's visitation rights, giving him access to the girls every eighth week during their school year and on various holidays.
The couple split in March 2006. Two years later, Lee said she's "kind of" engaged to boyfriend Djimon Hounsou.
"Both sides reached this settlement amicably, and are looking forward to moving on with their lives," Lee's attorney Daniel Jaffe told PEOPLE.
A lawyer for Simmons had no comment.

These are some spoiled kids if they require $20,000 EACH A MONTH to get by.
From what I have seen on Kimora's show - they are little brats...they had to learn it from someone...so I can only imagine what their mother constituted as necessary to get that amount each month JMO

so weird - i don't know him but the interactions i've had with him - he actually seemed pretty balanced. weird to say but - yeah, weird

i know 20 grand a kid seems like a lot but it is a % of his earnings and it is probably right on par with the GAJILLION dollars a year he makes. just like my brother gives a % of his earnings, MUCH MUCH LESS lol, but it is all relevant. hmm - the supervised stuff makes me wonder. he seems like such a calm guy - he must have done something to get so few visits and have them be supervised, right??

I'm wondering if it's because he works so much, always on call or whatever. And because he's rich and famous security is a necessity...
I'm trying to think of the best possible scenario here because I like him...
he takes yoga everyday, no matter his schedule, no matter where he is - i like him, too, so i'm going to say that this is one of the reasons even though it probably has NOTHING to do with it.
he does work and travel a crazy amount....

Although I think Kimora is a gold digging opportunist wh*re who wouldn't have 1/1000th of what she does if it were not for him, considering WHO he is, and WHAT he's worth, I don't think the amount is unreasonable for his kids ........

I wonder if that figure also includes tuition for the girls schooling? I'm sure that runs a pretty penny if they're going to a private school of some sort.
ETA: Oh and the supervised visits also took me by surprise too.
