S. Korea protests US beef?
can someone please exaplain to me why tens of thousands of S. Koreans have been protesting beef from the US for 2 months?

have many of them died from mad cows disease? I really don't understand this.
South Korean protesters hold candles during an anti-government candlelight rally against U.S. beef imports in Seoul, South Korea, Saturday, June 21, 2008. All U.S. beef exported to South Korea will come from cattle less than 30 months old, officials said Saturday, in a deal made to placate South Korean protesters worried about mad cow disease.

From what I understand the opposition political party is saying that the beef isn't safe (which it is now) and being anti-American and trying to promote that.
It is more of a political thing. I don't understand it as well, and it is kind of strange for them to be protesting about it.

I am so tired of anti-American sentiments! they should honor trade agreements. how would they feel if we imposed huge tariffs on Hyundai’s?
