S/O to the HPV Vaccine Thread
Do you think that we as a generation question medicine and things like new vaccines because we have always lived in a time where they were available to us?
Most of us were incocculated as kids and haven't had to deal with a lot of horrible diseases.
Do you think people's opinions would be different if this was not the case?

I think we question it because we, as a generation, are more educated and live in a time when it's our nature to question things more. I mean, to me, it's a no brainer to question someone wanting to inject me or my baby with something. Right?

We question it because we have seen the after effects of things like DES, Agent Orange and other toxins. We have also seen drug recalls and drugs that have side effects that we would not wish on anyone.
We also question it because we are interested in knowing and revising the limits on what government can regulate.

I agree with all of this and add that I think we realize how powerful the drug company lobbyists and advertising are. People are now asking for drugs by name before their doctors even have to prescribe them. There's a lot of money in the industry and it makes me question if these products are always what is best for the consumer.

I agree.
I worked for an attorney that handled a large piece of the class action suite against Eli Lilly, Merck, etc. The bulk of her clients were DES cases. The FDA approved it without investigating the second generation of mice.
I also question the ethics of a government that would exempt pharmaceutical companies from potential liabilities for vaccines that the goverment repeatedly demands its citizens take and passes an act using taxpayer funding to compensate those injured from vaccines.
