Saf-T-Swim price ..does this sound right? and a WWYD

I called Deer Park and was quoted $249 for 6 weeks per child. ( but right now they have a B1G1 child free offer)...so it would be for the twins that price.

Going forward I cannot afford $500 every 6 weeks!

He said they have packages I could split between the 2 for 30 sessions at a much more resonable price.

So 1st question.....I thought it was cheaper then this...is this the normal rate?

And the WWYD...I dont know what to do about Noah ( whose 3 and 1/2) ..He doesnt like the water all that much, and would not want these lessons, but at the same time, he should get them right? I feel weird not getting him lessons as well. Its a lot of $$ and I really feel the twins should have them based on a few factors.

We dont have a pool and we dont too often go near one.

the idea behind this was that Chloe LOVES the water. Obsessed and she is not afraid and I want her to learn safety. Sydney is a bit timid and I felt bad not teaching her as well, but then theres noah.

Opinions?

Bite the $$$ bullet and get all 3 kids lessons? Just take Chloe as her non fear is dangerous? Take the twins?

TIA! my decision making skills blow Chat Icon

Could you split the 30 sessions between all three?

How about the mommy and me clasess, which tend to be cheaper and allows for you to "test" how they would react to the water and get individual lessons if mommy and me goes well?

Okay....I have a story here....Teddy hates water...loves a playground water type thing but hates the POOL (deep water, scary, not that great with people he doesn't know without mommy and daddy) however....SAF T SWIM was amazing. Within three sessions he was jumping all the way into the pool by himself and staying under for a few seconds with out panic. He looooves it. Honestly yes it is expensive but if it means that if god forbid they ever got shoved in a pool they would know what to do, I say it's worth the $ kwim?? Plus they have the consecutive lessons that you can do more than six weeks and split, plus if you recommend friends you get $25.00 off. Teddy loves his swimming class and I am def signing him up again. HTH mama

I couldnt take both at the same time ( Noah would be too old for mommy and me) and i'm also midly allergic to chlorine and regular pools only irritate me, but those pools I cant do.

I can split the 30 among the two. I didnt ask about 3. But I would think yes as long as I signed Noah up for the original 6 weeks as well.

I just quoted for the one in Coram and it was much less than that??? The 6 weeks of mommy and me was $80 and the private lessons were about $130ish - I choose the mommy and me.

Your price is about $40 a session for one kid!! Thats crazy to me.

Re: Saf-T-Swim price ..does this sound right? and a WWYD

I just enrolled DS for swimming for 6 weeks and we got their $149 special for 6 weeks. They had that special for siblings.

But they do have plans for additional sessions/packages (and the lessons can be used by all the kids in the family. Not restricted to 1 package per kid)

Here is the price list I was given for INDIVIDUAL 30 minute classes. Price includes class price AND deposit (required)

3 sessions (1 session is 6 classes): 18 classes
$215 per session = $645 for 18 classes

5 sessions: 30 classes
$180 per session = $900 for 30 classes

10 sessions: 60 classes
$170 per session = $1700 for 60 classes

You pay $15 for insurance once a year. So you don't need to pay each time you buy a package.

ETA: Westbuy location.

Re: Saf-T-Swim price ..does this sound right? and a WWYD

well if I think about ...its really only $125 a child, so I guess the rates not too bad.

I called bellmore and was quoted the same price, and a discount for a 3rd child.

So it now seems more do-able after a bit of $$ to start.

Thanks everyone!!!

I will likely enroll all 3...I think its something they need to learn for safety.

We go to Saf-T-Swim in East Meadow. I bought the largest package which was 60 individual lessons for $1600. I pay monthly, refer as many people as possible (you get $25/referral) and ask for gift certificates to Saf-T-Swim from any close family member that asks what DS wants for birthday/Christmas, as he loves "swimming!"

That's what we are paying for 8 weeks on the weekend. Weekend classes are more than during the week.

I could have picked any day for DS. They are not charging us more for weekend classes.

For Noah, after the first session if ou think its too $$< look into the YMCA. DS is 3yo and doing group lessons as the Y. He really enjoys it!

You pay a few fees in the beginning
1yr program fee + reg fee was $116
9 weeks of group lessons was $97.

But the next session I will only have to pay the $97 and there are other programs for DS to do as well so it will make hte up front costs not so bad!

We just had our first mommy & me class today, at a $80 (discounted rate special) at the westbury location.

DD LOVED the class!!!

I suggest doing them, they seem SO worth it!

I called last month and was quoted $124 for the 6 week mommy and me class at Deer Park. DH is a volunteer fireman and you get a discount so we paid $118.

we did weekdays and weekends and never paid a different price.

Yes, it's totally different. Private lessons are more expensive than mommy group lessons.

They also run specials all the time and it's hard to keep up why someone paid $149 when someone may have paid $249.
