SAHM/teacher moms/or anyone that is home with their kids
What is your normal routine during the day? I am a teacher and this is the first summer I am off, and it is only 3 days but I feel guilty for not doing something every day (like getting out of the house). The past 2 days we have been go go go go and I am more exhausted than at work. I fell asleep at 8:30 yesterday LOL!

Re: SAHM/teacher moms/or anyone that is home with their kids
I work PT (2days/week) and mine and DD's (she's 22months) schedule on the days I'm home are:
5:30-6:00 I wake up Workout Sign into work Get some chores done 6:30-7:00 DD wakes up, plays in her crib 7:30 - get DD Breakfast for her Go out around 9:30.. errands, class at the library, playdate, etc. 11:30/12:00 - home for lunch 12:30/1:00 - down for nap
After nap, play, dinner, count down minutes until DH gets home Filling up the morning is soooo important for my sanity!

to be honest - there are days we are jammed packed and other days we do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! and I am ok with that! We occasionally meet a friend at the mall or the park or over someone's house, go to the park, go to the zoo or the library
but many days we just play in our back yard or ride around the block with our bikes.
If i did something every day - not only would my wallet be forever empty but we would be burnt out by the end of the week!
we rarely get out before 11-12 pm (sometimes later) if we do go out!

Re: SAHM/teacher moms/or anyone that is home with their kids
Kids get up at 730, eat breakfast around 8.
Mornings we go to the park, pool, library, store , for a walk etc. home for lunch and nap. We tend to stay home in the afternoons until after 4 bc it's too hot out during the summer . After 4 we go for a walk, to the park, or run an errand
We don't go out everyday because Its exhausting, usually pick one morning a week to stay in and clean up the house

Ditto for us! I'm a let's see where the day takes us kind of mom and sometimes it only takes us to the backyard, LOL.

Re: SAHM/teacher moms/or anyone that is home with their kids
I've been off for two weeks now and loving it. DS is still young so we are working around his nap schedule. Some days are very scheduled (a trip to Yaphank farm or library classes) others are simply a walk to the park or the day spent playing in his playroom. I have a lot of SAHM friends so that is nice.

exactly.....except we go out at 930/10am and come home for naps at 1230/1 when we do go out which is maybe three days a wk weather permitting....i did try to go out everyday for some activity but i was so drained by dinner and i still had to make/clean up dinner that i figured we would get out every other day which seems to work..especially since when i got them out everyday i found it hard to clean the house....there wasn't enough time in the day so with going out every other day i have time to clean the house and prepare dinner for the next day.......then theres always sats and suns where we can occasionally go out with daddy if he's off and if we have parties to attend ....so i figure thats more than enough social time in a wk

Re: SAHM/teacher moms/or anyone that is home with their kids
don't feel guilty at all about doing nothing! it's good for kids to have off days too and just hang around the house or whatever. on monday we stayed home all day and at first i felt bad a little but my kids were having a good time watching shows, playing games etc. i was glad we didn't do anything. i find that if i over-do with them especially my DD she wakes up asking what are we doing today? she expects a action-packed day. we typically either: go to the library walk to the park/bagels swim at my parents pool go to the beach playdates here or there backyard play and some day trips-like aquarium, nature centers etc.
home by 2pm most days for nap/downtime and then up by 4pm to play until dinner and bedtime

This. I just take every day as it comes. Sometimes we have lots to do, other days we are just lazy and do nothing all day.

Re: SAHM/teacher moms/or anyone that is home with their kids
During the school year, when my DH was at work..this was our schedule Wake up at 9, bottle and play. breaktfast at 10 and play. Get dressed and be out of the house around 1130. We go to Gymboree twice a week, usually meet up with friends once a week and run errands another day. Depending on the weather, we go to the mall or walk on the boardwalk.
Now that my DH is off for the summer, there isnt much of a schedule but just relax together!
