SAHM's - question
This might be a question for the parenting board, but figured I'd start here.
So as I posted last week, DH and I have decided I will stay at home after is born.
Money will be a little tight so I was just wondering which "mommy and me" programs you are considering and how much they are.
Also, any plans to join any mom's groups?

Re: SAHM's - question
A lot of times the price depends on the location you go to. We love Music Together, I think it's around $180 for 10 weeks, but they also give you 2 CDs and a book. W did Gymboree once, but I forget how much it cost. Some Gymborees let you pay a monthly fee and others you pay for the whole session at once. We're doing a gym type class now at a small local place in NJ and I think it was $145 for 10 weeks.

Look into you church or religious organization along with the library. They usually have free or low cost programs.

Same here...been taking her since she was 3 months and she LOVES it. She's now 10 months!
There's a puppet show theater right next to my house that we get involved with.
Play dates.
We go to the aquarium at least once a week.

Re: SAHM's - question
Jack and I have gone to Music Together - and Gymboree.
Barnes and Noble also has Storytime - we did that for a few months also - and loved it. I have to get my butt in gear to go back again.
You will also find other moms and GTG with them. I feel like we are always running around.
Music Together costs 225 for a season. Gymboree - depending on how many weeks you sign up for can vary. I believe the entire session is a little over 300.

Re: SAHM's - question
My son is 6 months old and I just signed my son up for Music for Aardvarks and swimming lessons in Brooklyn. The Music for Aardvarks class is 230 and the swimming lessons are 110.
There are also free programs at the library. I know that at the library where I live they have a program called Babies and Books that is every Friday. There are also things at Barnes and Nobles like story time.

Re: SAHM's - question
Barnes N Noble has story time. Also, look into your local library. They are usually always offering classes for free. Gymboree Little Gym (We don't go anymore, got a bit pricey). Play Dates

Re: SAHM's - question
DD is 7 months.
We just started Saf T Swim today for 6 weeks. There is a special running so it was $69
We start music together in a couple of weeks. I think the session is 9 weeks for $190
This week I am going to try to take her to the library for story time but it depends on her am nap, she might not wake up in time.
We go for walks with my neighbor who has a DD a few months older than mine. We also do play dates when we can.
