SAHM's Of 6-9 month olds

What do you do all day?

How is you child with alone time?

I find I cannot even do the dishes these days, he hates not being the center of my attention.

I used to be able to put him in his highchair and he would play while I did it. Not anymore. He wants to knwo what Im doing all the time.

He also is getting to be not so good in stores cause he wants to touch , see everything, so we dont go out much there either as often.

What time does your baby go to bed as well.

TIA!

ds gets bored easily as well... he likes the kitchen though so if I put him in his highchair, he stays there a while while I do the dishes, eat etc... I put him in his walker about twice a day so he can run around the apartment and burn some of his energy (I swear I dont know where he gets if from lol)... since he is a better sitter now, I sit him on the couch and we play with his toys for a while... he naps about 3x a day, he is so much better with naps now... for the last few days, we are trying to set a routine and put him to bed by 8pm (he is usually up at 6am)...

Re: SAHM's Of 6-9 month olds

Lately Bella will play on her mat (a blanket on the floor) with her toys most of the time. If I've got things to do around the house or in the kitchen, she'll sit in her high chair and play there and watch me. If she's not entertained by Jack's Bog Music Show while she's alone, FORGET me trying to do anything out of site.

She too is VERY clingly and won't let me out of her site. We'll run errands if I have to, but don't usually have those to do. We do a lot of playing on the blanket most of the time she's awake.

I just got a whole bunch of silk scarves, like we use in Music Together and we play with those.

she likes to have her "alone" time...meaning I put her in her papasan seat in front of the TV and she holds her bottle.

I play with her or she plays by herself. I feed her, bathe her, change her....that seems to take up a lot of time.

She naps a lot lately....one 2 hour nap and 1 hour and a half nap every day. She also goes to bed btwn 6:30-7:00 and sleeps until 7:30 am or so.

Troy has gotten better about being alone, but he still has his moments. He now can feed himself puffs, so I will put him in the high chair w/ some puffs (or cherrios) while I do dishes. We also have a portable dvd player which I have in the kitchen. I play the same Wonder Pets DVD, so he LOVES it. My mom bought him like 4-5 high chair toys, the ones w/ suction cups. Sometimes they work, but sometimes they don't b/c he gets mad that he can't pull them off!

What do we do all day? Play. Eat. Nap. Eat. Play. Bath. Eat. Bed. That's Troy, not me Chat Icon I try to go out at least once a day, when the weather is nice (not too cold and not raining). If the weather is inclement, I will take him out in the hallway (we live in a 2 family house) or down to the basement to do laundry. I do this for a change of scenery.

Generally, he is in bed no later than 8pm. But more often than not he is in bed around 7pm.

ETA: In stores, I keep "special" favorite toys in the diaper bag, which he only gets to play w/ when we're out. This way he w/ be so excited to play w/ that toy he "forgets" about grabbing things. This doesn't always work. I chalk it up to he is SO curious and wants to see, touch and taste EVERYTHING!

Re: SAHM's Of 6-9 month olds

I am a SAHM of a 7 month old, but I also have a 2.5 year old.

My 2.5 year old is really helpful with him, because if I need to do something and I leave him in his room to play with his toys, she will sit in there and play with him, so he doesn't get upset.

He goes to bed at 7:00 every night and usually wakes around 6-6:30 in the morning.

DD is 7 months old
i am lucky so far that she seems to like her alone time. she loves to be in the exersacuer or on the floor with her toys. she is also a fan of the Backyardigans, Blues Clues, and baby einstein. she will keep herself busy until she is bored or hungry. we read books, go to the library, gymboree, my moms house, have a playgroup, the stores....
my house is really small so i am not out of her sight a lot so that probably helps with the separation thing.
she goes to bed at 7

That is a really smart idea. I will have to try that when my DS gets older. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Jack will play in his exercauser all day long if I let him. That is usually when I get anything house related done.

We will read books, play with his FP Home, play with the Singing stage, go for walks, he takes naps, we run errands, things like that.

He doesn't mind me being out of the room - if I am in the room with him though - and he's playing - he wants my attention.

Re: SAHM's Of 6-9 month olds

I think this is a period of adjustment because our DCs were just not so aware before and now they are watching us, playing, doing things, exploring.....it's a lot of fun but exhausting!!

Can you leave him in the jumperoo or excersauces for any time alone??

Re: SAHM's Of 6-9 month olds

I'm not a SAHM, but I"m having the same issues lately.

I used to be able to put Logan in the Jumperoo or crib when I got home so I could let the dog out, bring the mail in, get changed, etc.

Now he screams bloody murder if I put him down when we first get home.

And the second I leave the room I get crying and whining.

When I'm really desperate, Baby Einstein goes on and I put him in front of the TV. Or I let him cry for a little bit.

Lately the only place he really likes to be and doesn't notice too much if I leave is in the PNP with a ton of toys.

But even that doesn't work sometimes.

I think they are just in that clingy stage.
