I would love a cleaning lady and a landscaper but it's not in the budget. I would pic the landscaper before the cleaning lady though.
I would too- DH is great about cleaning and we get it done. We both hate yardwork.

Re: SAHMs...Can we discuss cleaning ladies?
I'm not a SAHM and I think it is totally ridiculous that you would need a cleaning lady - I mean - you are at home all day with nothing to do but take care of DC - how can you NOT clean???? Get your hands out of the bon-bons - shut off oprah and get your a$$$ movin
Obviously I was kidding - I am a SAHM and only have a cleaning lady come once a month but i could REALLY use one once a week! I just feel guilty about it! But anyway, the fact that 15 people actually picked that response makes me

We do not have one, nor do I feel it's necessary for us to get one.
Some days I can clean the whole house, other days, not so much. And that is ok with me and DH. He does what he can, when he can, too.

Re: SAHMs...Can we discuss cleaning ladies?
I was able to handle cleaning the house with just one child, but once we had 2 under 2, the dynamics changed.
If we didn't have guests here so often, I probably wouldn't have hired a cleaning service, but knowing we have family & friends here almost every weekend, it was just too much pressure to keep on top of it.
So, I stopped getting my weekly manicures & pedicures and opted for a weekly cleaning crew, which is still cheaper than what my mani/pedis cost me. No regrets here.

This was how it was in my house as well - I finally put my foot down and said I was getting one (he restores his classic car - I told him that he can spend money on that then I can spend money on this)...
To make him happier about it, I don't have them clean our bedroom - he agreed to it after that. I also stay home while they are here (and stay in my bedroom)...

Do not have one and would never want one. I would have a really hard time letting a stranger clean my house.

Re: SAHMs...Can we discuss cleaning ladies?
we got one when I was 7 months pregnant and kept her. If you can afford it it's worth it. ETA: My family was very supportive then, but to be honest I haven't mentioned to too many people.

eta- I think sahm's need it MORE b/c the kids are home and moms are making a bigger mess then if eveyone was out at work/daycare etc...kwim? And who can clean with a child around underfoot?
Great point!
I just figured this out last night. I always wondered why there is so much more to do now that I SAH. Thanks to the OP - I had been wondering about this topic as well. I would love one, but can't justify it to DH now... but when we have another, I'll need some recommendations ladies!
