Same car parked for two weeks????

Please don't flame (by all means, disagree if you feel it, but no rotten tomatoes)...

We have a neighbor across the street...He rents out the main part of his house to a family and him and his wife live in the basement. The renters have the driveway, and the owners have two cars.

For the past two weeks his car has been in front of my house in the same spot. DH said he saw it gone for an hour one day, so my original theory that maybe it broke down was shot down...

It's a little ridiculous at this point. But I don't know why it bothers me so much...

I guess because he has two perfectly good spots in front of his own house...

I know I don't own the street in front of my house. Should I just s u c k it up and deal with it or is there some sort of ordinance that says you can't leave a car for that long in the same spot?

I guess I'm just venting...thanks for reading if you got this far.

I don't blame you for being upset. When I was renting I always made a point to not park in front of my neighbors homes.

That would bother me if there was no end in sight. Our neighbors are renovating and there are about 3 cars/trucks parked in front of my house all day long every weekday since August. Sometimes they block my driveway too. But, I know it's temporary.... Why do you think he started parking in front of your house all of a sudden? It's kind of strange no? If he goes out that infrequently maybe once he takes the car out next time he will park somewhere else.

thanks guys for at least making me feel like i'm not crazy!

i mean, you need a spot,by all means, it's a free country, but to just LEAVE it there for me to look at EVERYDAY...i just think it's rude and not very "neighborly"...

that's a good question....i don't know the answer....and i don't know him well enough to ask him (not that I ever see him)...the one time I've seen him since his car has been parked he jumped into what I believe is his wife's SUV...

I really thought maybe it broke down, but DH swears he saw it leave for an hour over a week ago and it's been there ever since...

Very strange, I know...I know we haven't done anything to offend him, we never talk, and we NEVER park in front of their house...

Re: Same car parked for two weeks????

I get so mad if anyone parks in front of my house. Thankfully, now that construction is done, we park our cars in our driveway and if we have guests over they park in front of our house.

I always discourage my friends and family from parking in front of my neighbors houses, cause i know its not right.

I would park in front of their house.

I would understand a nite or 2 but 2 weeks straight that is redic

We have a neighbor that occassionally does this as well - and although he doesn't do it all the time, when he does he parks right on top of my driveway. Chat Icon I mean, there is about a good 20 feet to park but he loves pulling up right to the curb cut. Drives me insane! Chat Icon

I'm not sure if there is much you can do - but as another poster suggested - maybe park in front of his house. Or better yet, you and/or your DH should start practicing your golf and/or batting swing out front...right near his car. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I think the family across the street rents out parts of their home. There is always a car parked on both sides of my driveway as well as directly across from my driveway. You can just imagine how difficult it is for DH and I to get into and out of the driveway. On garbage days I make sure to put the pails in front of our house in the road so the neighbors won't park there.
