Santa Pics: Anyone NOT let DC sit on Santa's lap?
My DH doesn't want to DS (his 1st Christmas) to sit Santa's lap. DH's reason is because there's a bunch of weirdos out there--and so no pictures.
I'm up in the air about this, I agree with DH, but its Christmas, and don't store screen these people?
What is your opinion? Thanks.

i don't think that it's a big deal-but thats just me. i can see what your DH means...but i think that my DD is like the millionth kid who will sit on his lap for 5.5 seconds so i doesn't bother me. if she had to sit there for a long extended period of time then maybe i'd feel strange about it.

I didnt have a choice, DD didnt want to sit on his lap so she sat on DH's.
I would of rather gotten her alone but, being her age, I knew it may happen.
Cant you do that? an option?

Funny that you should ask this. My friend who lives in FL just told me today how she was at her mall the other day, and her son, who is 3, was standing in front of Santa, and she was squatting down next to him, when Santa grabbed her azz!!!!!!   She complained to mall security, but got no where.
I would have kicked Santa right in his balls!!!

I think that the nicer malls have great Santas and there's no reason to worry about them for the few seconds DC is on their lap. I worry more about the germs on Santa from all the other kids so we always go early in the day during the week and early in the season.

i would never dream that a child molester or other type of deviant would play santa at a mall. with all those people around (workers, you, other parents), i don't think there's anything at all to worry about.
what could he do? molest your child with you right there? it's not like they go in a back room alone or something.

I think it's so sad that this is what our world has come to and this is where our minds wonder...
I trust no one unless they give me a reason to trust...sad, but true. But in this case it doesn't even cross my mind not to allow my DDs to sit on Santa's lap. His hands are always where I can see them and they are never out of my sight.

Thats so funny you mention that, in the UK most santas aren't allowed to touch the children because of health and safety. The kids stand next to santa for their pictures.

I have to be honest,that sounds a bit over the edge .....they do screen the people they hire and its for all of what 1 minutes with you standing two feet away.
I'm not sure I understand what he thinks would happen?
