Saturday Christenings??
What do you all think of this. The hall we want to rent only has one Saturday left in October, so we booked it for Ava's christening. Now, i am afraid that people will comment that we should of had her christening on a sunday? Can you have a christening on a Saturday?

I'm assuming that the church does christenings on Saturday? I don't think it matters what day you do it.

Yes, the church does do Saturdays, that is why I think it is fine too. If people didn't do Saturdays, they wouldn't offer it! :)

My daughters Christening was on a Saturday. Thats when the church does them. No one said anything.

My niece's christening was on a Saturday. It was fine. She was the only baby, it was private. I am doing the same thing. It was nice and intimate with just our family and friends sharing in the blessing.

The point is that your girl is entering the Catholic faith - I'm sure the good Lord doesn't mind the hour or day.
We had a private ceremony for the twins and it was really nice.

How do you get a Christening on a Sat.? I would actually rather have it on a Sat (lots of out of town guests). I think my church only does it Sundays Can your baby be Christened at any church or does it have to be the one you belong to?

I think that is fine I wantedto have a satruday christening for my daughter but my church didn't do them. I was also willingto pay extra to have them do it but they didn't

Oh wow, well I guess I am lucky then. I am using Our Lady of Lourdes RC church in West Islip. Yes I think you have to live in the community.
