Saw a new doc last night...

she is within my practice... She was over a hour behind and so rushed with me...

Anyway, we talked having another c-section and SHE asked me if I wanted more kids. I told her I don't think so. She said have you thought about having your tubes tied since she will be right there.... I was shocked... I'm 31 years old, I'll be 32 when DD is born.

oh WOW. that's so permanent - and you didn't even say you were 100% positive you weren't having more kids! ugh i would definitely have to think that through for a LONG time.

some doctors seem like they are rushing to jump to the quick fix in so many cases... "hey, while i'm in here, why don't we make this permantent?" Chat Icon like it's such a casual thing.

i love how she didn't just suggest an IUD or something like that. Chat Icon

I am 35, and having #2 in September. This is absolutely my last baby- without a doubt in my mind. I am having my tubes tied.

Re: Saw a new doc last night...

This happened to my SIL and she regrets it. She had full placenta previa with her last baby and was on bedrest for 2 months in the hospital. She an dher Dh were discussing him having a vasectomy and teh Dr said to both of them well thats kind of selfish-you will be opened up anyway-why would he do that?Chat Icon This r also told her if she was PG again that her previa would probably show up again which she has since found out is not true

*shrug*
I'll be 33 when this baby is born

I thought tying is reversible and the cut and tie was not?

Still its a just a discussion I'd be frank and say "not yet, cause in 3 years who knows?"

I promised my hubby that since this is a little girl, I will try again at 36 one last time, but who knows? I've seen plenty of ladies at my office preggers in their 40's

Still I expect this sort of discussion, just be honest and say no thank you.
