Saw the baby's HB but scared
the good part: my DH and i went to the dr office today and we saw the baby's heartbeat for the first time. the baby is fine.
the bad part: my dr said that i had 2 sacs, meaning 2 eggs dropped and both were fertilized. however, there was no heart beat on the 2nd sac(smaller of the two), thus, miscarried. now, she said the body will absorb this sac (everything will be fine) or it will come out like a period. If it come out like a period, my cervix will probably open. if it's wide enough, the healthy baby will probably miscarry as well. so now i'm scared sh*tl*less about that.
anyone else here had this issue before?? i'm so scared i will miscarry the 2nd one two.

Re: Saw the baby's HB but scared
There have been numerous women that have lost the 2nd baby naturally and the 1st is healthy. Studies show that it happens a lot more than we even know. Please don't worry about it. I know it's easier said than done.

I can only imagine how nervous you are. Did they give you any hints? bed rest or anything?

I had this happen also. I had no bleeding, and my doc said I prob. would not. My body did reabsorb. The sac showed up on the next couple of sonograms, smaller each time, and eventually was no longer there. There was nothing special to be done, your body will take care of this. I am almost 21 weeks now and my baby is doing just fine. HUGS to you. FM me if you have any questions.

There is something called vanishing twin syndrome and it is very common. I hope everything works out for you! Good Luck!
