Scary Story
So last night my DH took Molly out for her nightly walk, well about 25 mins later he comes running in the house saying "You won't believe what just happened to us"
Well, apparently they were walking and there is an open entrance to the Seaford Oyster Bay Parkway on one of the side roads over here....and out of nowhere a huge rottweiller (not with an owner) comes out of the entrance, starts barking like crazy and starts to run to attack my DH and Molly.
DH scoops Molly up right away and knows he is about to be bitten - all of a sudden out of nowhere a car came and as the Rottweiller was about to cross the street the car hit him. The car didn't stop to see if it was ok and the Rott. ran back into the parkway entrance.
DH ran home to drop off Molly and then went back to try and find the dog to see if he was ok or if he needed to get help (which, I'm not going to lie I was NOT happy about because I was feeling contractions all day and just picturing my DH getting attacked by this crazy stray dog was enough to send me over the edge.)
He went back and couldn't find the dog and didn't see any blood on the street - but it still freaks me out that there are loose dogs out there like that - If that was me and Molly I would have lost my Sh!t. I am such a scaredy cat when it comes to bigger dogs like that.
So, that's my scary dog drama for the night.

Re: Scary Story
Rocky and my dad were "attacked" by a loose dog in the neighborhood a few weeks back. As soon as my dad saw him charge, he scooped up Rocky and shielded him with his body. Then a car came by and rescued my dad....
When he came home, he told me and i went out (with my car)to see if i could find the dog(to see if it had tags or just to get him and take him to a shelter)
but i didnt see anything

That is so freaking scary!!!! I'm scared of big dogs who are on leashes with their owners bc I have a fear that they will break lose and attack me. I've never thought about stray dogs.

Re: Scary Story
Soooo scary. That happened to me when my doggie was a puppy. I was about 15 and my dog was just under a year old. (He has since passed) Two giant dogs approached us on our way home from a walk. A german shepherd and a doberman. I pulled my dog behind him (he thought he was really cool and started growling). The dogs showed their teeth, I avoided eye contact and slowly walked around them and ran into my backyard shaking. Another time when he was 8, the day he was neutered he was in the backyard and a pitbull came climbing over our fence. I screamed and grabbed the back end of the pit bull and pulled really hard. My brother heard me screaming and scooped up our dog and brought him in the house. I knew whose dog it was and went banging on the door at midnight screaming at the owners. Terrifying! I know exactly how your husband felt. It is so intimidating when the other dog is unleashed and there is no one to help you.

Re: Scary Story
OMG...glad to hear they made it home OK. That's a very scary experience. Also happy to hear you didn't go into labor because of this.
One day I was walking my chihuahua in my neighborhood and was walking past this one house. I hear and see a pit bull barking like crazy at an open window. I start thinking to myself "is that screen going to hold back that dog"...sure enough it DIDN'T...and this pit bull comes charging at me and my dog. I scooped her up at started screaming b/c at this point the dog is circling us, but nobody comes out of the house. Thank goodness a car was coming down the block and pulled up at asked if I wanted a ride home. Of course I took it! Very scary.

Re: Scary Story
OMG - you girls are freaking me out even more!!
I was nervous to take her out on walks before this happened because there are a few german shepherds in the area and they will bark at us as we walk by and even that makes me nervous.
Thank god none of you were hurt.

Re: Scary Story
Wow...that's not only frightening, but did anyone see the article in today's Newsday about the two men and pitbull who were attacked by loose rotties the other day. The really sad thing is that they aren't really mean dogs, but get trained to be mean and get a bad reputation.

Re: Scary Story
OMG that is so scary. It's bad enough when the animal is unleashed and running around, but, how about when the animal is unleashed and the owner is right there. I have a moron who lives up the block from me who NEVER has their Boxer on a leash. Ever since they moved in their dog has been roaming free. One day, while passing their house when walking one of my dogs, their dog comes from their property and into the street and starts confronting my dog. I start screaming for one of them to control their dog and this b*tch had the nerve to start yelling at me that she didn't need to have her dog on a leash because he was on her property. Can you believe it? Needless to say, the conversation got very ugly. I can't stand irresponsible owners.

We have the same thing right over here. The owners have a HUGE german shepherd and he is never on a leash and always outside. I used to walk past their house but now I stopped because I am just too afraid!

Re: Scary Story
OMG how scary!
WHen I was in elementary school, my sister and I took my dog down the street for a walk. A lab came out and attached my dog. I grabbed the dog by the back of his neck and pulled him off my dog (not thinking that the dog could bite me). Meanwhile my dog is thinking he won the fight (cairn terrier). We picked her up and ran.
Turns out it was a neighbor's nasty dog.
