Schedule of 3 meals a day
Ped said we should start feeding DS (5 months) 3x/day now. Previously we were doing only breakfast and dinner with Stage 1 and oatmeal. Now she said oatmeal 1x/day and to start Stage 2. What is you feeding schedule? Also, do you still need to do the 3-4 day rule if it's a different food? She did not specify...

Re: Schedule of 3 meals a day
I'm pretty sure that you need to stick to the every 3-4 days every time that you start a new food. it's to make sure if they are allergic to anything. I tend to only give it two days now that DS is 7.5 months old, even tho I know that I should wait it out still.
At 5 months my DS will still only doning breakfast and dinner. We weren't told to start till 6 months, but either way, this was his schedule then.
Breakfast: THEN: Oatmeal with formula warmed with half a jar of bananas or any other fruit. About 20 mins later would be followed by a 6oz bottle. NOW: More oatmeal and less formula to make it thicker (want him to get more used to chewing) with a full jar of usually bananas, or even just half of a real banana mushed up.
Snack: THEN: Bottle usually 8oz - always a big eater lol NOW: Puffs, yogurt, mushed up fruit that I end up having, or crackers. Followed by a small sippy cup of juice (just started this today). Before hand it was just formula, about 7oz.
Lunch: Stage two veggie... as he got older I would start to add oatmeal again just to make it thicker. Always followed with a sippy cup or bottle.
Sometimes he'll have another snack, but that's dying off...
Dinner: Stage two dinner...those are usually already pretty thick, so I don't add oatmeal. We follow with a sippy right after.
