Scheduled C section
I know I am just full of questions lately
From the get my doctor made it clear that he prefers scheduling C sections for twins.
I asked him last visit, what week are they usually scheduled. He said Ohh we don't really "schedule" - the hospital only allows us to put it on the board after 39weeks. Which I won't get to, according to him, he thinks I will be between 36-37. Don't ask me how he gets this # I am so confused with this whole thing. So now I am thinking I will have to go into labor anyway. Which, avoiding labor honestly was the only perk for me to have a C.
When was your C section scheduled (how far in advance)? What week did you deliver? Did you go into labor first on your own? Is 35 weeks safe for twins?

Re: Scheduled C section
I didn't have my babies yet but my doc scheduled my c-section when I was 30 weeks. It was scheduled for when I will be exactly 38 weeks but the docs KNOW I wont make it that far. I am going to try to deliver the girls vaginally but they scheduled it just so that the appt exists in case its needed.
My docs tell me that getting to 36 weeks with twins is as if someone got to 40 weeks with a singleton so I would assume 35 weeks is really good.

Re: Scheduled C section
At 26 weeks my OB scheduled me for 39 weeks.
At 36 weeks I was begging my OB to bump up my date, so he moved it up to 38 weeks.
At 37 weeks 1 day I was at an NST/Growth Sono and Baby A didn't show a lot of growth in 3 weeks so they sent me over to the hospital (across the street) for a c-section.

Re: Scheduled C section
We scheduled mine at around 28 weeks for 38 weeks. I delivered at 32 weeks. My water broke on my birthday, I went to the hospital, the next day my Dr. removed my cerclage and not even 2 hours later i was having really bad back labor. I had them an hour later. They spent exactly 30 days in the NICU. 35 weeks is great for twins. I think they prefer you to get to 36 weeks but 35 weeks is great!

Re: Scheduled C section
my doc never scheduled one...he wanted me to get to 34 weeks, then 35 weeks, then at 36 weeks he still wanted me to go longer but the girls had their minds set they were coming out!! he said he couldn't schedule one before 38 weeks.

Re: Scheduled C section
My doctor said he couldn't schedule anything earlier than 38 weeks and he knew I wasn't going to make it that far. He was right I had an emergency c section at 33weeks6 days due to pre eclampsia. The babies spent 10 days in the NICU and did amazing.
