Scheduled c section questions?
What time was your c section scheduled for vs what time they actually performed the c section AND how much before scheduled c section time did you have to be in the hospital? Thanks! Trying to figure out if my kids would be awake or not when I leave for the hospital.

My c section was scheduled for 11:30 I had to be at the hospital two hours before and ds was out by 11:48! Hoping my second on Thursday runs just as smoothly. If there are emergencies than you could be bumped.

I had mine scheduled for 8:30 am - the first appointment of the day, but I was bumped for an emergency c/s. My c/s took place at 8:40 am. I met the woman who bumped me - she had a placental abruption (sp?) - she and the baby were fine. Since the hospital I delivered in has more than one surgical OB suite it was not really a big deal. They just moved me to a different room and I did not even realize that I was delayed until my obgyn told me after I delivered.

My c section was scheduled for 8am my dr wanted me there no later than 6am. I was taken in "i think" maybe 15 minutes later only because one of the drs was running late. My baby was born at 8:45am.

it was scheduled for 11am but there was a problem with the first epidural it didn't take all the way, i was just numb on one side so they had to do it again.....so i don't know what time it actually started but dd wasn't born until 12:15pm
oh and i think i had to be there at 9am for the scheduled appt at 11am btw

Mine was scheduled at 11:00am and I was in the operating room at that time getting my spinal.

With my first I was scheduled for 9:30 and DS was born at 9:54. I had to get to the hospital 2 hours prior.
WIth DS2, I was scheduled for 3:30 and DS was born at 8:41pm. I was delayed more times than I remember. I was supposed to be at the hospital at 1:30 but they called me and told me to stay home. I think I went to the hospital at 330! THen I was delayed another few hours...
I think you have a better chance at being on time, if you are in the AM.
