School Spirit - Clothing (Poll)
I got an order form today from DS preschool to order Tee Shirts, Hoodies, Sweatshirts, etc. all with the school name and logo on it.
At first I thought, how cute to have if even just for a souvenir of preschool. But then, my paranoid side set in and I started thinking about him actually wearing it out in public and some undesirable knowing where he goes to school...
am I being crazy?
what have the BTDT ladies done?
thanks!

I'd be paranoid, but that's my nature! I guess I'd probably let DD wear something around the house, that way you're still supporting the school but not in public. But again, that's just me, and I'm paranoid (and I admit it!).

Re: School Spirit - Clothing (Poll)
My son had to wear a shirt over his outfit with the school name on it for class trips. It was bright yellow and it was easy for the teachers to wrangle the students. BUT...because it was preschool, the parents HAD to attend the trips as well. My son is never out without me, so I guess it's ok. But I'd still be a little paranoid.

If someone wanted to know where your kids goes to school badly enough, they'd just follow you driving one morning. I don't think the t-shirt puts them at any additional risk.

I think its cute and would definitely get it for him. I have no problems with him wearing it out in public either. I know his school is very secure, I feel comfortable.

Well, it's not much different than going to school in a uniform.
So I would say, sure, what's the harm?

I agree. If someone wants to, they'll just scope out whatever school is convenient for them. I doubt that a t-shirt will have any affect, either positive or negative, for someone looking to cause harm.
Buy the clothes, and support the school!

I ordered them. He's wearing them around town where everyone goes to the same school.
But yes it did occur to me too. It's horrible that the thought has to even cross our minds.

Re: School Spirit - Clothing (Poll)
I see no harm. Especially since schools have many layers of security so it's not like someone can just show up and take your kid KWIM?
