school supplies ?
DS is entering K in september and the PTA gave us a easy order sheet from staples (I think). its 26.77 and on a certain day you pick up a box with all your child's supply's in it.....
is it worth it?
does my son really need 8 glue sticks???

Re: school supplies ?
IMO, those boxes are worth it! Otherwise you are going to spend the entire summer watching Staples, Office Max, etc for sales because that stuff adds up quick!
This is cheaper and way easier!

Re: school supplies ?
I just bought my kids school supplies through the school fundraiser. Saves me the trips and worry all summer about finding it all and fighting the crowds.
Is it worth it? Probably not money wise, I am sure the school gets some money. It was $35 for my soon to be 2nd graders supplies. But the convenience is 100% worth it for me.

Re: school supplies ?
I'm a teacher and a mom, and your child will definitely need 8 glue sticks...maybe more! We ask for quite a few glue sticks at the beginning of the year and they always run out! We are totally out by this time of year (our school does not supply any, so anything that we give comes from what we buy).

Re: school supplies ?
Totally worth it to me. Our PTA did it one year & it was GREAT.
If you are a complete bargain shopper you may find better deals but you'll also waste gas going back & forth trying to find those deals.
I'd go for it!
and yes to the glue sticks. In fact, I had to send 2 more in.

Re: school supplies ?
TOTALLY worth it. I have been doing it for years and will do it again this year.
You will have to buy MORE supplies through the year also so those glue sticks will not even be enough-lol!!

Re: school supplies ?
yes definitely worth it! Ours even came with premade name labels to put on all of the supplies. 8 glue sticks lasts about 2 months with my DS, they dry out and he must've used massive amounts on projects.

Re: school supplies ?
ITA! It was easy to have everything put together for me and just pick up (my PTA uses a local mom and pop store). I felt great supporting the PTA and the store (over the big name ones).
glue sticks go FAST!

Re: school supplies ?
Yes definitely worth it! I order through our PTA every year and they are usually the exact supplies all the K teachers picked out together for the pack. Also we had to put together a homework school supply box at home. So when you see supplies on sale grab them and save them to keep at home.
