Sciatica during pregnancy
Did/does anyone have sciatica during pregnancy? Did you have it before you were pg? I think I am developing this but don't know if it is pregnancy related.
It is very, very painful.

Re: Sciatica during pregnancy
I had it while I was pregnant and it was a KILLER - i understand your pain. I would topple over in pain and throw myself on the floor because my back often gave out.
Don't push yourself - take your time making movements and don't over-exert yourself doing anything.
I tried both cool and hot compresses, warm showers and RESTING.
I didn't go as far as going to physical therapy - but I was able to take a 3 week disability before I had the baby - just keep the doctor informed about how you are feeling. Hope you feel better.

Don't have any experience, but I have heard this is pregnancy related -- ahh, another one of the joys!

Thank you very much. Did you have back pain to begin with, before you were pg? I did, but nothing this terrible. Also, did it go away after you had the baby?
Sorry for all the questions and thank you in advance.

Re: Sciatica during pregnancy
Yes, I had it with my daughter and now with this pregnancy. It is so painful and gets worse if I sit for a long period of time. Last time I did pilates and that seemed to help a great deal. Good news is that is goes away (along with the heartburn, foot cramps and other fun pregnancy conditions) after you have the baby.

Re: Sciatica during pregnancy
My lfriend did during pregnancy, but didnt have it before hand. You can go to a chiropractor that has adjusted maternity patients. I know at least for her, this was a big help.

Re: Sciatica during pregnancy
ohhh I am dreading sciatica. I normally get a flare up anyway, prepregnancy. I am not going to be good with it at all.
