Science Vocabulary Games?
Does anyone have any ideas of a vocabulary games that I can play with my sixth graders.
But I need something that does not require a lot of set up because I am a traveling teacher (change classrooms every period)
TIA

Re: Science Vocabulary Games?
make a game with index cards. each card is the answer to someone's question i.e.
i have eight legs, swim in the ocean and squirt ink...
the next card would say
i am an ocotopus, who has the organ found in the digestive system of humans which measures (? unsure of actual footage) long...
i have the small intestines...etc
and so on - obviously you would use the info you've taught and reviewed w/your kids, but its fun, easy and cheap. it also lets you know who is paying attention and who is not

Re: Science Vocabulary Games?
hmm... i'm a speech therapist, so i work with smaller groups... but i've had to help out some of my language kids with science vocab on a few occasions. maybe you could do a memory type game. the words on one set of cards, and their definittions on another set. the kids take turns turning over 2 cards until the find the word and definition that match... might not work as a whole class game, but maybe you could split them up into small groups??

Re: Science Vocabulary Games?
There is this game called Eggspert. It is basically 6 buzzers for students to buzz in when they know the answer to a question. I use it in my class all the time and the students love it.
I have them form teams and then line up. I ask a question and the first to buzz in gets to answer. I then have them move to the back of the line and the next set of students go. It is really no setup and a lot of fun. You just have to have questions ready.
