scrathcing posts
for those with cats, what have you found to be the best scratching posts? I've read good things about the purrfect post, but wasn't sure if it was just good advertising. I'm adopting 2 kittens and their mom. Any other specific "must haves"?

we have a three tier one of these that our cats love... we call it their kitty castle 
as far as basics go you'll obviously need a litter box and litter, water and food bowls, adult and kitten food
the only other thing we have in addition to that is treats, a brush and waterless shampoo

I'm probably not the best person to ask since my kitties have a floor to ceiling kitty condo Although I just saw that you're getting three kitties (which I think is absolutely FANTASTIC!!! and this condo would probably be perfect

I was actually going to get a kitty condo AND a scratching post. Do you think that is overkill? I figure 3 cats, and our new house is pretty big--3 floors, so I was thinking of putting the condo in our living room, and a scratching post in another room.

we have a condo and a couple of scratching ramps. the one Oz likes the best is Fat Cat Big Mama's Scratch 'n' Play Ramp
