Screen doors and windows
As far as what we need done to the house...those are the first necessities. I'm wondering how much these can run? Especially doors. We figuring on getting a bay window and 5 other small windows. I dont have the measurements for you now but I was just thinking of it and knew I could get a better idea from you folks!

Re: Screen doors and windows
We just bought a larson Beveled Glass door from Lowes. It was $228.
You can get a screen door for under $100, it just wont be of great quality....but it will last at least a few years...We just picked it up tonight, and it should be installed in the next two days with our new front door Scott

oh thank you! I had no clue, and now I feel like we can do some more minor things to our home and not break the bank
Are windows a much scarier story???

Re: Screen doors and windows
Look in the pennysaver or online for Unified Windows. My parents used them a few years back to replace around 12 windows in our old house. I think they gave my parents the best deal Scott

Unified Windows? I would do my research because you get what you pay for.

Re: Screen doors and windows
We used Unified a year and a half ago on our previous house. We never locked the top lock from the outside until we went on our honeymoon, we did from the inside at night.
Well, fast forward to the first day FIL is supposed to come and feed the cat... he couldn't get the top lock open with the key. He calls a locksmith, and is told the lock was never installed correctly, something about the interior mechanism. Cost $150.
We return and DH brings the receipt down to Unified's office and asks to speak to a manager. Long story short... they denied everything and wouldn't reimburse us any money.
Stupid, Stupid company.... let's see my family and friends have bought TEN new doors this year and none from Unified because we told them our story. Oh, and do you think my FIL is going to recommend them to any of his customers?
