Seamstress needed in Manhattan
Anyone have any recommendations? I am in a wedding next month and was not pregnant when I got the dress so I need someone who can use the extra length and put in some panels... TIA!

Hey... just a little advice...
What fabric is the dress??? some fabrics are directional... so if you cut it from left to right on the bottom, and put it so it is up and down... it might look like a slightly different fabric.
Also, how many inches are you looking to add on the side???? YOu might be better off ordering like 2-3 yds from the manufacture... so you are safe.
Good Luck!

Re: Seamstress needed in Manhattan
I can highly recommend someone in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. Its literally right across the street from the F train to Carroll Street. I forgot the name of the place, but its a dry cleaners owned by an old Italian couple, and they both can do work on clothes - I guess he is a tailor and she is a seamstress. I had 2 bridesmaid's dresses altered there, and they are absolutely wonderful. They are also really nice, and opened on a Sunday once for me!
Good luck!

Re: Seamstress needed in Manhattan
I had the same problem. I'm the maid of honor in a wedding on Aug. 1st which I will be 6 months. I just took my dress, which is already tight by the way, to a seamstress in Dear Park Long Island. I work in the city, but live in LI. I don't know any great places in the city, but you might find some googling or even the knot. Good luck! I feel your pain!

This is a good point, but not an issue with this particular fabric.
